This is the project on my desk right now with few more days painting still to go.
As you can see, it's a chaotic World War II scene set on the Eastern Front.
All the Soviet attackers are just about finished... I'll go back and make adjustments here and there as the painting progresses. There are still the Germans defenders to add, along with smoke and dust to complete the scene.
I always paint from the background to the front. I'm not sure it's the conventional way of painting, but it works for me. The sky will be the first thing I paint- and the closest subject the last.
