Confederate forces attack the Union positions at the Edward McPherson Farm, defended by the Pennsylvania Bucktails.
The Pennsylvanians had already repulsed two assaults, but as the 47th and 55th Virginia Regiments attack the 150th Pennsylvania (in the upper right section of the painting), the 32nd North Carolina surge across the Chambersburg Pike, attacking the 149th Pennsylvania, forcing the Bucktails to withdraw to Seminary Ridge.
