Private of the Commander-in-Chief's Guard, 1778

Washington directed the creation of a guard for his Headquarters in 1776.

Detachments of the Guard took part in skirmishes and larger actions including the seizure of Redoubt 10 at Yorktown in 1781.
The figure is shown alongside weapons and equipment used by the Continental infantry.
