August 7 became known as 'The Day of the Typhoon' because of the dramatic impact of the Typhoon attacks against German armoured columns around Mortain.
Carrying a total of eight rockets the Typhoons could be devastating to German armour and moral, demoralizing crews and forcing them to find cover in hedgerows.
