For three months Attila besieged the great city of Aquileia, using a range of siege machines with little effect, so he decided on a starvation strategy.
Eventually the Huns broke into the city, subjecting Aquileia to a terrible fate.
Attila sits on his horse, being handed a looted highly decorated glass goblet. Around him his Huns and their Germanic allies pillage and burn. Looting, killing, taking prisoners and burning the great city.
A few Romans soldiers make a desperate last stand in the background.
