Signed and numbered print
With its added concrete armour, a Jagdpanzer IV/L48 drives through the East gate of Den Brink Park.
Supported by SS-Panzergrenadiere, who cautiously approach the 6-pounder anti-tank gun of Sergeant Wilkinson, E Troop, 2nd (Oban) Airlanding Anti-tank Battery, Royal Artillery.
Positioned at the entrance to the park, the anti-tank gun had been knocked out minutes earlier. With the gun crew hesitating to open fire on the approaching Germans, for fear of hitting friendly troops in front of them on Alexanderstraat, the Jagdpanzer was able to fire first, with deadly effect.
Entering the park, the Germans added to Major Cain and the South Stafford's already perilous situation as they were forced to abandon their costly attempt to control the high ground in the park.
In the background, through the damaged prison wall can be seen the main prison building.
